Used by power distribution companies, voltage and energy optimisations companies, facilities management, electrical or site services and maintenance engineers to monitor voltage variations on site helping them to diagnose any voltage related issues, or to gather data perhaps to make representations to their power supplier. Voltage optimisation companies also use the product to monitor voltage levels pre and post optimisation. The EC-3V has an integral Phase Sequence/Rotation Checker.

All Electrocorders use a constant sampling technique, meaning they sample every cycle multiple times, missing very little data! Many, many other brands do not, they simply sleep for 99.99 percent of the time, waken to take a sample, then sleep; they miss 99.99 percent of the data! How can you perform a survey when 99.99 percent of the data is missing?

Two sizes are available, the larger EC-3V and the smaller SL-3V, which is about a quarter of the size. The SL-3V has a reduced battery life of approximately 9 months, around 1/3 of the EC-3V (24 months). Note the EC-3V has native USB communications and has a phase sequence (rotation) checker as standard, the SL-3V has RS232 comms and no integral phase sequence checker.
