Spirent TAS8250
The TAS 8250 cable network and interference emulator is the first product, to emulate critical hybrid fiber/coax cable network impairments in a controllable laboratory instrument. It is an ideal tool for evaluating the transmission performance of cable modems, cable modem termination systems, set-top boxes, HDTV equipment and Internet protocol …
The Spirent 8250 Cable Network & Interference Emulator accurately models the cable TV communications network that carries data (i.e. Internet traffic), voice, and video signals. Spirent 8250 emulates the impairments associated with a hybrid fiber / coax (HFC) cable network that connects headend equipment with end user terminals such as cable modems or set-top boxes. Spirent 8250 recreates the HFC network by providing wideband emulation of the downstream (50 to 860 MHz) and upstream (5 to 42 MHz) channel characteristics. Developers, manufacturers, and evaluators of cable modems and cable modem termination systems (CMTS) can use the Spirent 8250 to evaluate the transmission performance of their products in the presence of real-world conditions. Spirent 8250 can also be used to test digital video products, IP (Internet Protocol) telephony products, and other devices that communicate over an HFC cable network.
