System Overview
The 6402 CDMA test platform has been developed by Aeroflex and employs a Compact PCI (cPCI) architecture to provide a modular customizable design. This allows it to be configured and scaled for the user’s requirements. The unit is also able to provide complete coverage of the data rates used by CDMA2000 up to 3.1 Mbps and it has been designed with sufficient speed capability to ensure that it will be able to handle the higher data rates required in the future.
A PC to the defined specification is also required to control the system. Control of the unit can either be achieved locally using an Ethernet connection, or remotely via a LAN.
The unit is designed to be used with the Aeroflex CDMA software. The CDMA2000 1X software (Option 111) for Release 0 and Revision A is required as standard. Beyond this, further options can be added to suit the applications for the unit.
Cell Emulation Capability
The 6402 is available with a single or dual carrier capability. The single carrier option is able to simulate up to three cells on a single carrier frequency enabling soft handoff to be tested. The dual carrier option provides the ability to simulate up to six cells on two carrier frequencies for testing 6-way soft and/or hard handoff.
Software options compatible with 6402
To operate as a test system, the 6402 requires the CDMA 2000 1X-AIME Software option 111.
To ensure that systems can be configured to meet individual requirements a variety of software upgrade options are available:
- EV-DO-AIME for CDMA2000 EV-DO Release 0, Option 101
- EV-DO-AIME for CDMA2000 EV-DO Revision A, Option 101-A (requires Option 101)
- EV-DO AN-AAA A12 Access Stream Authentication System Software, Option 122
- Mobile IP, Option 141
- DMU (Dynamic Mobile IP Key Update), Option 141D
- MEID (Mobile Equipment IDentifier), Option 273
- Location Based Services (GPS, AFLT and Hybrid), Option 171
- Amber operator level GUI for easy setup of operational scenarios, Option 191
- A comprehensive range of test scripts is available providing coverage of test requirements for CCF, CTIA and CDG including C.S0038-A, C.S0044, and C.S0043 etc.
In addition, a wide variety of support options are available to meet the needs of individual users.
