In late 2013 Agilent announced a split off of their test and measurement business. The new test equipment focused business entity will be called Keysight Technologies, Inc. and will be a publicly traded company. Keysight is expected to commence trading in late 2014 and will retain all of Agilent's T&M products and patents.
Agilent Technologies maunufactures the highest quality test and measurement, chemical analysis, communications, automated test, electronic test, life sciences, network-test, ATE, wireless-test, GCMS, LAN, MS, WAN, AOI, LC, fiber channel, ICT and ATM Testing Devices. Agilent spun off from Hewlett-Packard Company in 1999 as part of a corporate realignment that created two separate companies. Its roots date to 1939, when Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard started a company that helped shape Silicon Valley and the technology industry. Agilent's electronic measurement business provides standard and customized electronic measurement instruments and systems, monitoring, management and optimization tools for communications networks and services, software design tools and related services that are used in the design, development, manufacture, installation, deployment and operation of electronics equipment and communications networks and services. Agilent communications test products cover testing of; Fiber Optics Networks, Transport Networks, Broadband and Data Networks, Wireless Communications and Microwave Networks. Their general purpose test products include; General Purpose Instruments, Digital Design Products, Parametric Test Products, Modular Instruments and Test Software as well as High Frequency Electronic Design Tools, Electronics Manufacturing Test Equipment and Thin-film Transistor Array Test Equipment.
