Used Multimeters For Sale

Are you in the market for an instrument that measures Voltage, Current and Resistance? Than a Multimeter is the instrument of choice. There are a variety of multimeters in use today that serve a variety of purposes. They are often used in a laboratory, in the field or home use and they are manufactured in 2 designs.

Analog and Digital Multimeters (DMM) both serve the same purpose of measuring voltage, resistance, Current. Though Analog is considered the older model, it sometimes is the preferred choice amongst Engineers and Technicians because they are the most sensitive and can detect the smallest fluctuations. Analog meters are constantly performing measurements while DMM’s take a sample of the measurement at a particular time.

Multimeters are offered in a variety of designs and models, each of which comes with different price ranges. If you are unsure which model and price range would be best for you, the question to ask is what type of equipment are you working, with and how critical and accurate do the measurements have to be?

Multimeters are made up of amplifiers and resistors and over a period of time these components can wear. When this occurs, they will not be as accurate and will either require calibration or replacement. With high end models, quality components that make up the instrument allow you to recalibrate the multimeter , while lesser models usually require replacement.

A DMM is Typically More Versatile

If it is sensitivity that you are after, and it is necessary to detect even the smallest of current or amperage fluctuations, then an Analog meter would be the instrument of choice. The benefit of using a digital multimeter (DMM) is that they usually offer a wider range of options such as auto ranging, auto polarity and sample and hold. Digital multimeters will usually display the most recent reading and they are typically more accurate than your analog meters with an accuracy rating of 3% versus that of a digital multi-meter of .5% accuracy rating.

For a technician who works in the field and requires quick readings with an instrument that can withstand the outdoor elements, a digital multimeter is a great choice. When working with research and designs, readings are very critical and require the detection of the slightest fluctuations. In this instance, an analog model of superior construction might be the best choice.

If you are searching for a Multimeter but have questions about functionality or pricing, contact Test Equipment Connection. We carry a variety of Multimeters to fit your budget ranging from New, Refurbished, Demo and Overstock models. Test Equipment Connection has an instrument suitable to fit your needs whether in the lab or out in the field.
