The Advantest R3182 is a low-cost portable spectrum analyzer capable of performing direct input measurements at a maximum frequency 40 GHz. Adopting newly designed RF circuitry, the R3182 aims for improved basic performance with their 40 GHz direct input capability. Further, the R3182 achieves best-in-class performance for average display noise levels of -106 dBm (at 40 GHz, RBW 1kHz), and SSB phase noise levels of 85 dBc/Hz (at 40 GHz, 20 kHz offset). Operating frequencies for radio communi-cations have increasing tendency to shift to higher frequencies.
